An introduction to the various types of construction used in commercial and industrial buildings, this offering gives an understanding of how the occupancy can increase risk factors. For example, what protection elements exist (example: Fire Hydrants, Fire extinguishers, Sprinkler systems), whether they help to reduce the potential for loss and how to identify and understand the impact of exposures. Also includes analysis of the municipal town grading system via a Fire Underwriters Survey.
One-on-one, in-cab evaluations designed to identify skill gaps and training opportunities for all driver levels. Our trainers facilitate a formal evaluation of professional drivers, followed with feedback for both the driver and carrier.
The Northbridge Insurance FACTS® Defensive Driving Program provides effective targeted training that is unique to each driver’s needs. Built for the trucking industry by transportation safety professionals, this training program is based on the principles of: Focus, Awareness, Communication, Time and Speed. The Northbridge Insurance FACTS Defensive Defensive Driving Program is available as a half-day theory program as well as a full day theory and practical program.
Northbridge Insurance FACTS® Driver Coach training was designed for individuals who provide over-the-road driver evaluations. Our instructors guide each driver coach through defensive driving principles, teaching them how to objectively assess defensive driving skills and how to provide constructive feedback.
An introduction to various types of hot works such as welding, brazing and cutting along with the hazards associated with them. Participants will learn about the recommended controls that help to reduce the potential issues with this process as well as alternatives to the welding, brazing and cutting processes.
Outlines what a geotechnical report consists of, along with its origins and the importance of understanding the basic concepts of soil bearing capacity as it relates to various types of excavations, foundations and shorings along with water ingress issues. Other topics covered include wrap-up policies and a review of the various exposures that could lead to a claim if not monitored as per geotechnical recommendations. This offering would be of value to participants who deal with Course of Construction (COC).
Reviews the challenges of dealing with temperature controlled cargo along with the various kinds of specialized equipment utilized. Additionally, participants will review effective loading, in transit and off-loading procedures for temperature controlled operations.

This program was designed to ensure that drivers understand the proper seating position and how to minimize blind spots while adjusting mirrors to proper positions to help reduce collisions.
Helps prepare drivers for the hazards associated with winter driving conditions. Participants will be instructed in jackknife prevention techniques along with overall winter driver safety tips.

This innovative safety manager workshop is designed to educate carriers on the benefits of reviewing, analyzing and benchmarking the effectiveness of their safety management processes. This half-day interactive workshop demonstrates how to create, communicate, train and implement a new loss reporting plan within an operation. Participants will also review what to do at the scene of a collision along with US DOT Requirements.
A half-day session that provides the participant with an introduction to determining a root cause analysis, trending and benchmarking, as well as developing an action plan that can be communicated to executives and decision makers within their organizations.
